GP Assistant

Job summary

South Rural PCN are looking to welcome a GP assistant to The Holbrook and Shotley Practice. This is a full-time post, although part-time may be considered for the right applicant, with additional hours as required to cover for annual leave and sickness. The hours will be worked across both our sites, you will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. Reporting to the practice manager and GPs, the successful applicant will provide both admin and clinical duties.

Main duties of the job

  • Managing all clinical post.
  • Extracting information from clinical letters, applying medical codes as necessary.
  • Supporting patients with appointments, referrals and follow-up appointments.
  • Performing ECGs, phlebotomy.
  • Taking blood pressures.
  • Supporting GPs in liaising with external agencies.
