Job summary

Blandford Healthcare in Braintree are looking to recruit an experienced healthcare assistant on a part-time basis, for up to 30 hours per week.

The healthcare assistant role within general practice can be very different to the role within other settings and as such we are only looking for applications from those with previous primary care experience. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside a team of 4 nurses, 2 nurse associated and 1 HCA, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following duties;

  • Dressing management
  • Phlebotomy
  • Health checks
  • Stock management

Qualifications

Essential

  • Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC;
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent;

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within a GP practice.
  • Strong clinical skills as mentioned above.
  • Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidential manner with a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, determining own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
