Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time care navigator at Writtle Surgery. The care navigator plays a pivotal role in dealing with, supporting and assisting patients at our practice, helping them to access the right services and dealing with their queries via online triage requests, face-to-face and by telephone.
General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience and offers excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job
- Greeting and directing all patients.
- Booking, cancelling and moving patient appointments.
- Handing out letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
- Dealing with requests for information.
- Advising patients of Practice procedures.
- Assisting with the daily incoming online triage requests
- Answering the telephone promptly.
- Assisting GPs with their requests.
- Referring patients to local domiciliary services.
- Dealing with some incoming emails and admin.

The Writtle Surgery is a 3 partner semi-rural dispensing practice of approximately 8,000 patients. We have 3 salaried GPs, and a fully staffed team including practice nurses, dispensers, secretaries and administrators, clinical pharmacists and receptionists.
