Job summary

Lakenheath Surgery located in Brandon are seeking an experienced PCN pharmacist to join us on a part-time basis for 16-28 hours per week. We are open to the successful applicant working remotely or in surgeryoverseeing our reauthorisations, medication reviews, clinic letters etc. We are really flexible to hours worked and are open to some of the hours worked to be on an evening or a weekend. This is a new role and although initially part-time, it can possibly offer more hours from April next year.

Main duties of the job

  • Clinically assessing and treating patients, using expert knowledge of medicines, for specific disease areas.
  • Providing specialist expertise in the use of medicines and medicine information (i.e. side-effects, dosage) across the practice.
  • Providing pharmaceutical medication review, and health education advice, to patients at the designated practices by face-to-face, telephone or notes-based review, as agreed with the practice.
  • Providing leadership on person-centred medicines optimisation and quality improvement.
  • Contributing to public health campaigns, including flu vaccinations, childhood immunisation and adult immunisation programmes.
  • Processing specialist treatment letters.
  • Supporting practice dispensary.
  • Processing hospital medication discharge letters.
  • Acting as a key contact in the practice, for all medication related queries.
  • Supporting improvements in clinical care, through practice-based audits and implementing change.
