Job summary
The Colne Practice has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacy technician to join our team on a part-time basis for 20-25 hours a week, working Monday to Friday.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering safe, efficient, and patient-focused medicines management services. You will play a key role in ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate medication, including those in care homes and assisted living settings. Additionally, you will support clinical staff in optimising prescribing practices.
Main duties of the job
- Request prescriptions accurately and efficiently in accordance with NHS and practice protocols
- Process repeat prescription requests and liaise with clinicians as needed
- Provide advice to patients on the safe use of medications, including over-the-counter products where appropriate
- Support medicines reconciliation and prescription queries
- Assist in audits and quality improvement initiatives related to prescribing and medicines management
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists and other practice staff to support the safe and effective use of medicines
- Maintain accurate patient records using the clinical system (EMIS)
