Pharmacy Technician

Job summary

Colchester Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacy technician to join our primary care network. You will be based at Parsons Heath Sitebut will be required to travel between all of the GP practices within our PCN. This role is offered on a full-time basis or part-time basis, for 37 hours per week on 4 days. However, we can discuss more or less hours.

The successful candidate will benefit from this opportunity to build up strong working relationships, across our organisation, and will be actively involved in how their role evolves over time.

Main duties of the job

  • developing our prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient prescribing within the PCN;
  • supporting the reception and administration teams, at our member practices, with complex medication queries;
  • supporting the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions.
  • Updating policies and procedures
  • updating patient records from secondary care correspondence
  • Managing case loads of patients such as Diabetes Care, Hypertension, CKD
  • Supporting during vaccination campaigns - not crucial to role.
