Job summary
Queens Park Group Surgery currently has an opening for an enthusiastic salaried GP to join our ambitious, established team consisting of a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff. The successful post-holder will havedrive to develop specialist interests which will complement the practice vision, and the ambition to take the practice further.Similarly, an interest in areas such as IT, medical education, or training is very welcome.
Each of our salaried GP undertakes a share of early and late clinics, including extended hours either early or late. This will only be expected if this falls on the days that you are required to work. Salaried GPs will be expected to participate in on call duties.
Main duties of the job
- Receive patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and make assessments of their health care needs.
- Make professionally autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred internally within the organisation.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Develop a care plan for health with the patient.
- Provide advice and health education.
- Admit and discharge patients to and from caseload respectively and refer them to other care providers internally or externally as appropriate.
- Comply with relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. in relation to child protection, confidentiality issues etc. as detailed in the practice policies and procedures.
- Be committed to lifelong learning, audit and effectiveness to ensure evidence based best possible practice.
About us
We are a very long-established practice working on two sites in Bedford, looking after 12,500 patients. We are also care-taking another local practice in Bedford, with a list size of 9,000 patients.
