The Colne Practice in Rickmansworth is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking General Practitioner to join our dedicated team. We are offering a salaried position for 4 sessions per week, specifically on Thursdays and Fridays. Main duties of the job
- Share of routine and urgent appointments both face to face and telephone
- Prescribe as per local & national guidelines
- Share of home visits routine and emergency
- Time-manage completion of administration: letters, results, tasks, referrals, telephone calls, emails
- Take responsibility for appropriate referrals (following local guidance and good medical practice) and administration pertaining to them
- Checking and signing share of repeat prescriptions
- Cover for colleagues in exceptional circumstances such as sudden illness, taking into account the individual doctors external commitments such as childcare.
- On call sessions pro rata
- Work with other health and social care providers to ensure a safe and integrated service. Provide comprehensive assessment, advice, and treatment for the registered practice population.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of consultations using both EMIS clinical system
- Provide clinical support to other members of staff, both clinical and administrative, in achieving the highest possible standards of care and QOF and Enhanced Services targets.

With a list size of 10,400, Colne Practice has a strong emphasis on personal lists, continuity of care and patient focused services. We are looking for a motivated, caring GP to join our friendly, hardworking team consisting of 5 partners, 2 salaried GPs, 3 clinical pharmacists, physiotherapist and excellent support from nursing and admin teams.
We are a recognised Teaching Practice, actively involved in the education and development of GPs, FY2 doctors, and medical students from Brunel and Cambridge medical schools. Additionally, we host training afternoons for our Primary Care Network (PCN) training days. We would be delighted to welcome the new GP team member to participate in these educational activities, particularly if they are interested in developing their teaching and mentoring skill set. Furthermore, our practice offers an in-house Minor Surgery and Joint Injection service. The GP leading this service is enthusiastic about supporting training opportunities and would be happy to provide supervision if this area aligns with the new colleague's professional interests.
