Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified GP to join our friendly team, for 4-6 sessions per week. The role is based in our friendly Walton-on-the-Naze practice, which has been recognised in patient surveys as one of the best practices in the area.
Walton is a family seaside resort with sandy beaches, seafront gardens, quaint narrow streets and the second longest pier in England.
You will be part of the GP team managing a busy, interesting clinical caseload spread over the population covered by Walton Medical Centre and ensuring the highest standard of care for all registered and temporary patients. You will carry out all the duties reasonably expected of an NHS general practitioner using the standards expected by the GMC and RCGP in line with appropriate national and/or local guidelines.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the practice rota, as agreed, you will make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery, telephone and electronic consultations and queries, visiting patients homes, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
You will be making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other care workers within the organisation.
About us
The Colte Partnership is very much at The heart of Primary Care, being the largest GP Partnership in North East Essex; comprised of 8 local GP practices across Colchester and Tendring. We care for approx. 80,000 patients and our head office is in Feering.
We pride ourselves on working to be at the forefront of primary care in our region and have many exciting ventures on the horizon. Each of our branches has its own character, and family friendly ethos, which is why our patients love coming to us (and tell us so in our regular patient surveys). However, being a large partnership means we can offer so much more than a local branch can by itself with specialist clinics, social prescribing and innovative support such as regular dementia cafes, armed forces support and even child first aid classes for parents.
We strive to look after our employees as well, with generous annual leave, flexible and family friendly working, and support during difficult times such as free counselling.
