Job summary
Bridge Street Surgery in Downham Market, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice nurse to join our team on a part-time basis, with the hours/days flexible and to be discussed at interview. The post-holder will work with reference to practice agreed protocols and guidelines, providing nursing treatments to patients both independently and in participation with nurse colleagues and general practitioners.
Main duties of the job
- Working independently or alongside the GP and making decisions/recommendations as required.
- Providing assessment, treatment, screening and advice to patients.
- Assessing routine wounds including trauma and assessing, removal of sutures and staples.
- ECGs, venepuncture.
- Carrying out new patient medicals.
- Seasonal vaccinations, administering injections and providing guidance.
- Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly.
- Chronic disease management awareness for diabetes, asthma/COPD.
- Diagnosis, monitoring and development of individual management plans.
- Recording accurate clinical notes.
