Job summary

Oak Street Medical Practice in Norwich, has an opportunity for a patient care advisor/receptionist to join our team on a part time basis, with suggested hours of 18 per week. This would be 6 hour shifts over three days with school hours being considered.

In this essential front-line role at the practice, patient care advisors help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed.

We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals, who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service.

Main duties of the job

  • Greet and direct all patients.
  • Act as first point of contact for patients , providing a welcoming and professional service.
  • Manage appointments, queries and patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Liaise with clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
  • Deal with requests for information and managing problems and complaints.
  • Advise patients of practice procedures.
  • Register new patients.
  • Answer the telephone, promptly.
  • Accurately maintain patient database and records - workflow, summarising, filing, and scanning.

About us

Oak Street Medical Practice is a team of some 30 members, including 2 partners. We have an exceptional multi-disciplinary team including physician associate, advanced clinical practitioner, nurses, nursing associate, healthcare assistants, social prescriber, mental health nurses, physiotherapist, and trainee pharmacy technician.

We have a strong teaching and training ethos and strive to ensure our patients receive the best care available.
