Practice Nurse

Job summary

Southend Medical Practice has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice nurse to join their team on a part-time basis. We are ideally looking for someone to work between 24-34 hours per week and happy to consider this across several days as the shift pattern can be negotiable.

Main duties of the job

• Supporting the organisation and facilitate clinical care in a holistic and proactive manner to patients registered at the practice.
• Maintaining a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all practice protocols and policies.
• Providing nursing assistance to the GPs and other members of the primary healthcare team.
• Undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments.
• Providing and evaluating a range of health interventions to ensure that patients health and social care needs are met.
• Managing and treating long-term conditions.
• Prioritising health problems and intervening appropriately, to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
• Supporting and managing the health needs of various patient groups.
• Carrying out new patient and health checks.
