Healthcare Assistant

Job summary

Kelvedon and Feering Health Centre have a fantastic position to join their team working 2-3 days per week as a health care assistant. The successful applicant must be able to work on a Friday each week until 6.30pm to be considered and have previous primary care experience.

Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

The healthcare assistantwill be able toapply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical.

Main duties of the job

• Wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines.
• New patient health checks.
• Re-stocking andstock rotationof surgical equipment and vaccines.
• Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
• Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations.
• Providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families and carers.

We are a small but busy practice with a population of approximately 7,600 patients. Our CQC rating is Good.We have an incredibly supportive administrative/reception team with good management systems in place.
