Job summary

Benfleet PCN are excited to be looking for a GP to join our busy team and work across the five practices, on a part-time basis.

With previous experience working within a similar position, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group, across various locations.

Main duties of the job

• Delivering highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
• Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.
• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
• On rotation, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles.
• Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
• Providing health education.
• Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

About us

Benfleet PCN was formed in June 2019 with seven like-minded practices wanting to provide a joined up integrated service for our population. The PCN now includes 40 staff members, and we have been known as the accelerator PCN in Mid and South Essex. The PCN provides services for just under 48,000 patients across the patch.
