Job summary

Creffield Medical Group has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic paramedic to join our PCN. You will be based at Turner Road Surgery but will be required to travel between all of the GP practices within our PCN. This role is offered on a full-time basis, for 37.5 hours per week over 4 days.

The role will offer you the opportunity to build on your experience of working effectively within a multi-disciplinary, healthcare team, as you will work alongside fellow professionals within the practice in support of one another. If you are an experienced emergency care practitioner (ECP) / paramedic wanting a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

  • Urgently respond to referrals and provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment at first point of contact by attending to patients, according to patients needs either in the practice or patient homes;
  • Support, and continue the development of, an on-the-day emergency patient service in the practice;
  • Accurately triage and prioritise patients, including in both emergency situations and telephone triage, demonstrating the use of a variety of techniques to elicit the history of an event/illness, including past medical and drug history;
  • Evaluate clinical information from examination and history taking, and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral;
  • Review the effectiveness of the treatment provided, making changes where necessary to improve patient outcomes;
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in an efficient manner.

Creffield Medical Group was formed in June 2017, it is an amalgamation of Creffield Medical Centre, Layer Road Surgery, Turner Road Surgery and North Hill Medical Group and we have 30,000 patients.

  • Be a registered paramedic, with current HCPC registration and have 5 years post registration experience or equivalent, ideally with some being in primary care.
  • Have completed ENP/ ECP Minor Injuries and Minor Illness course Level 6 and be a ALS/APLS provider.

  • Be on a Band 7 career pathway.
  • Be able to effectively assess, plan, treat and refer patients;
  • Be able to evaluate patient care confidently;
  • Have experience of working to protocols and guidelines;
  • To exhibit excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills;
