Job summary
Watlington Medical Centre are looking to welcome a qualified dispenser into our busy practice, on a part-time basis for up to 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
- Process all authorised prescriptions
- Making up and checking of dossette boxes
- Endorse all prescription forms as appropriate
- Promptly forward all invoices & dispensary related correspondence to the Practice Manager or Pharmacist
- Operate efficient stock control
- Order drugs from wholesalers & representatives
- Ensure that drugs are stored in an appropriate manner
- Ensure that all shelves & work surfaces are regularly cleaned to maintain a high level of hygiene
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean & kept in good working order
- Take prompt action in response to any drug alert bulletins
- Ensure that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature & to maintain a temperature control record/log book
- Maintain full & accurate records of all transactions incorporating the use of computers
- Ensure repeat prescriptions are regularly entered on the computer system & printed out
- Collect all due prescription charges & ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in
- Undertake training as appropriate
- Potential to work towards ACT qualification
- Maintain confidentiality
- Maintain awareness of & compliance with the Practice Procedural Guidelines & General Health & Safety Regulations
- Undertake any further duties that may be required.
