Job summary

Rockleigh Court Surgery has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced/ newly qualified practice nurse to join our team on a part-time basis, for 4 to 6 sessions per week on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Main duties of the job

  • Cytology
  • Childhood immunisations
  • Contraception reviews
  • Wound care injections
  • ECGs/BPs
  • Health monitoring and management
  • NHS travel vaccines
  • Running asthma, COPD and diabetes clinics

Rockleigh Court Surgery is a friendly and supportive general practice team. The practice has an ethos of providing high quality care, has a high QOF achievement and a "Good" CQC rating. We are a GMS, semi-urban practice, just off the A12, with excellent train connections to London.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A relevant nursing degree.
  • Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
  • Fundamentals of Practice Nursing course (General Practice Nurse Foundation Programme) or equivalent experience or qualifications.
  • Competence to undertake asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.

Experience

  • Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care, and recording spirometry.
  • Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
  • Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions.
  • Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
