Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity at The Elms Medical Practice for an experienced paramedic to join our team. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our multidisciplinary team and salary will be very competitive and based on general experience, primary care experience and ability. The post also includes membership of the NHS pension scheme.

We provide general medical services to c16,500 patients in a desirable commuter belt suburb and are looking for a qualified, experienced paramedic. We really are a great team to work with. So if you are an experienced paramedic wanting a new challenge, we would love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

    The role will include care home ward rounds, individual care planning and an acute response service. The paramedic will also run their own clinics providing care for all presenting patients from initial history taking and clinical assessment through to the diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.

    The paramedic will provide a holistic clinical service, by working collaboratively with the healthcare team and with support from GPs as required, meeting the needs of the patients, implementing agreed management plans and following approved protocols as appropriate.

    The paramedic will be expected to carry out home visits and consult with patients who present on the day via booked appointments. The paramedic will also review and act appropriately on blood results and referrals/correspondence regarding their patients. Mentorship will be provided by the GP team.

  • Be a registered paramedic, with current HCPC registration and have post-registration experience, ideally with some being in primary care;
  • Have completed ENP/ ECP Minor Injuries and Minor Illness course Level 6 and be a ALS/APLS provider;
