Job summary

Wivenhoe Medical Centre is looking to recruit an administrator to join our team on a part-time basis, working25 hours a week; we can be flexible with days and times.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for general office administrative tasks, such as scanning, filing and shredding. This role is vital to ensure all aspects of patient care are recorded in the practice clinical system accurately.

About us

n June 2017, The Colte Partnership was formed, consisting of 9 local practices across Colchester and Tendring, caring for approximately 95,000 patients.

We work as three collaborative primary care networks (PCNs):

  • Ambrose Avenue Group Practice, Riverside Medical Centre & Ardleigh Surgery
  • Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre & Rowhedge Medical Centre
  • Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre & Wivenhoe Medical Centre

There is a wide socio-economic demographic served within this area, which provides an interesting and varied case mix. The successful candidate will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators, and will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.

Job responsibilities

Key tasks include:

  • Processing all incoming communication received via the surgery website.Coding documents in patient records as appropriate. Scanning, coding and attaching documents.
  • Checking the surgery email account regularly, throughout the allocated working hours. Reading and forwarding emails to the appropriate department. This will include patient documents as well as other types of correspondence.
  • Undertaking any administrative duties set by the practice manager or line manager.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Adhering to data protection.
  • Participating in the personal development and appraisal scheme.
  • Attending training course(s), as required.
  • Participating in surgery and team meetings, as required.
  • Ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to in accordance with health, safety and security procedures.
