Job responsibilities
The role will include:
- Issuing patients with their medication and handing out prescriptions.
- Adding medication to patient records from hospital letters, issuing prescriptions.
- Dealing with medication queries on the phone with patients, pharmacies, hospitals and care homes.
- Dealing with queries relating to prescription ordering as well as other administrative roles such as stock control and ordering.
- Checking patients medical record to ensure all tests and checks are up to date before issuing prescriptions to the GP for signing.

Knowledge and skills
Desirable
- Experience of dispensing medication would be advantageous but the successful candidate would in time be enrolled on a dispensing course and become a dispenser.
- Experience of GP practice is essential and prescription clerk knowledge would be advantageous.
