Job summary

SS9 Primary Care Network in Leigh-on-Sea is recruiting for an additional Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP)/paramedic to join the home visiting service which aims to support patients to receive treatment and care at home (where possible) and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions.

Main duties of the job

The ECP will work autonomously, in collaboration with their multi-professional colleagues, to support and treat patients within a defined locality across a number of GP practices.

SS9 Primary Care Network is a collaboration of 5 GP Surgeries in Leigh-on-Sea and covers around 56,000 patients. Southend is at the forefront of the move towards service integration and our practice staff work very closely with a number of healthcare professionals including; district nurses, midwives, dementia services and drug and alcohol services. Leigh-on-Sea is set in a picturesque setting, historic old town and walking distance to the beach. The town has excellent transport links with two lines to London (just 40-50 minutes by train) and a thriving international airport.

The ECP will triage, take a comprehensive history, examine, diagnose and treat/refer for a range of minor injuries/illnesses/infections as required. You are expected to work autonomously but will have the support of a multi-professional primary care team made up of doctors, nurses, advanced nurse practitioners and pharmacists.
