Job summary
In partnership with Canvey Island Primary Care Network, GP Healthcare Alliance (a federation of GP practices in Castle Point and Rochford) is hosting an innovative service to recruit a dedicated physician associate to the network.This is a full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week.The successful candidatewill work acrosstwo practices within ourprimary care network (PCN):Oaklands Surgery andThird Avenue Doctors' Surgery.

We envisage that the successful candidate will adopt a highly proactive and collaborative approach in helping to develop this role further and in exploring their own development needs.
About us
Canvey PCN is a network made up of 6 surgeries who have 42,000 registered patients. Our vision is to work in partnership with our colleagues and patients to provide the best primary care services in the community.
Our team includes a variety of different professionals who can offer peer support and shared learning. This role will work as part of this large team that includes:
- Advanced nurse practitioners / advanced clinical practitioners
- Paramedics
- Care coordinators
- Social prescribers
- Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
- Nurse practitioners and healthcare assistants

Job responsibilities
The post-holder will:
- Work under the indirect supervision of the clinical director, undertaking tasks and duties delegated and conducting face-to-face, acute, on-the-day appointments, within the scope of their own competencies;
- Provide cross cover, where necessary, to member practices within the PCN (including telephone triage, on site clinics and home visits) for patients (within own competencies).
- Work as part of the PCN multidisciplinary primary care team, to support patients by providing a holistic assessment of the individual needs.
