Job summary

Billericay PCNis looking to recruit an experienced advanced clinical practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team, to help us to transform and modernise pathways of care, enabling the safe and effective sharing of skills across traditional professional boundaries.

About us

Billericay PCN is a collaboration of six GP practices serving approximately 41,000 patients from the Billericay area.

Job responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Todeliverahighstandardofpatientcare,usingadvancedautonomousclinicalskills,and abroadandin-depththeoreticalknowledgebase.
  • Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients conditions, initiating direct referrals as appropriate.
  • Providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues.
  • This strategic role will also provide the opportunity for you to develop innovative concepts, models, methods and practices to help deliver improved primary care to our practice population.
  • Promote healthandwell-being throughtheuseofhealthpromotion,healtheducation,screeningandtherapeuticcommunicationskills.
  • As anindependentprescriber:toprescribesafe,effectiveandappropriate medicationasdefinedbycurrentlegislativeframework.
  • Leading and undertaking research and audits.
  • Providing leadership, education and training to different healthcare professionals, staff and students.

  • As a key valued member of our nursing team:
  • You will be a Registered General Practice Nurse (currently registered with the NMC).
  • You will hold a recognised qualification at Masters level and work as an Independent Nurse Prescriber.
  • You will be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and be confident in leading in a variety of settings.
  • Your leadership of others will also enable you to use and further develop your teaching and mentoring experience/qualifications.
  • You will be forward thinking and strive to develop innovative ideas and new ways of working, that address the health needs of the practice, whilst motivating and encouraging others to do the same.
  • As an excellent communicator and collaborator, you will embrace opportunities to work and liaise across multi-professional and agency boundaries in the interests of improving patient outcomes.
  • In addition to your highly developed clinical skills, your approach in the role will be consistently compassionate and respectful placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
