Job summary

The Eden Surgeries, in Hatfield Heath and Hatfield Broad Oak, are looking for a scanning administrator to work 30 hours per week over 4 days.

Main duties of the job

The role is to process clinical information from outside sources, for example hospitals, Out of Hours, 111 and other care providers.This role has evolved due to the ongoing increase in patient contacts following COVID 19.

About us

The Eden Surgeries is a 2-site GP Practice in Hatfield Heath and Hatfield Broad Oak. We are a busy, rural, dispensing practice that looks after almost 10,000 patients.

Job responsibilities

Main duties:

  • To provide an efficient medical record scanning service to support the business needs.
  • To assist in the smooth operation of the practice by capturing & maintaining medical records for use in consultations & reports with adherence to the rules, regulations of scanning by using the practices clinical computer system.
  • To be responsible for processing and coding medical information both electronic and paper. Accuracy is vital as the information will contribute to the patient's medical record.
  • To provide cover for absence, of scanning staff, as required ensuring continuity of scanning.
  • To effectively communicate with scanning team, doctors, nursing staff and others concerning scanning issues.
  • To be able to manage own workload to ensure work is accurate and complete to meet targets and communicate any problems to the line manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Experience of working at pace whilst maintaining accuracy - we are looking for a motivated person who can work quickly whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • High level of literacy.
  • Computer literate.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in primary care and using SystmOne would be advantageous.
  • Experience in a similar role.
