Job summary

King Street Surgery in Bedford is recruiting a salaried GP. We are happy to consider four, six or eight sessions per week, plus equitable shares of home visits, on-call duties and eConsult rotas. This is a permanent salaried post but additional locum shifts available could also be available.

The practice is a very friendly one, and many staff who retire continue to work for us on a bank basis. We believe in continuous improvement and welcome suggestions from our team on how we can improve the service we offer to patients and the working environment we provide for staff.

We offer:

  • Six weeks' annual leave plus public/ bank holidays (FTE or pro rata for any part-time positions).
  • Study leave which is four hours per week on an annualised basis of protected time for professional development and pro-rata for part-time employees.

The main purpose of the role is to support the GP partners and the other salaried GPs, to manage a busy and interesting clinical caseload. The appointee will also have the opportunity to take part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in treatment, staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare services for a diverse patient list.
