Job summary
We are seeking an experienced GP with a Special Interest (GPSI) in ENT to join our team across Manchester and Southampton.
You will assess, diagnose, and manage patients with ENT conditions such as impacted wax, epistaxis, sinusitis, and recurrent tonsillitis, performing procedures including microsuction, foreign body removal, nasendoscopy, laryngoscopy, and audiogram interpretation. You will work closely with audiologists, ENT specialists, and operational staff to deliver safe, patient-centred care.
The role includes independent clinical sessions, participation in MDT meetings, supporting clinical governance, and contributing to the training and development of colleagues. Candidates must be on the GMC Register, hold a primary medical qualification with 3+ years post-qualification experience, be a GP principal, and have at least 6 months ENT experience under consultant supervision.

Main duties of the job
As a GP with a Special Interest (GPSI) in ENT, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with ENT conditions such as impacted wax, epistaxis, sinusitis, and recurrent tonsillitis. You will carry out independent clinical sessions in community-based clinics, performing procedures including microsuction, foreign body removal, flexible nasendoscopy, laryngoscopy, and audiogram interpretation.
You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of audiologists, ENT specialists, and operational staff to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care. Duties include undertaking investigations, formulating treatment plans, making onward referrals, and maintaining accurate patient records in line with professional and confidentiality standards.
You will participate in MDT meetings, support clinical governance, and contribute to service development initiatives. The role also includes mentoring and training colleagues, implementing local ENT pathways, and supporting quality improvement projects.
Flexibility is required to work across multiple locations, including mobile services, and to respond to the evolving needs of patients. You will maintain CPD and professional development, demonstrating commitment to high standards in community ENT care.
