Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and organised Breast Screening Administrator to join our friendly team at the Jarvis Centre, Surrey. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 9am5pm.
As part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme, you will play a vital role in supporting the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Working within a busy, patient-focused service, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments, supporting clinics, handling patient queries, and ensuring that all records are managed accurately and securely.
You will be the first point of contact for women attending screening, providing clear information and a supportive, compassionate approach. The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience who enjoys working in a team and making a real difference to peoples lives. Previous NHS or healthcare experience is desirable, but not essential. Full training on the NBSS system and breast screening processes will be provided.
Main duties of the job
As a Breast Screening Administrator, you will support the smooth running of the breast screening service by:
Scheduling and managing patient appointments using the NBSS system.
Acting as the first point of contact for patients, handling queries with professionalism and empathy.
Preparing and processing clinic paperwork to ensure efficient service delivery.
Welcoming and checking in patients at reception, providing clear information and reassurance.
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in line with NHS policies.
Supporting clinical and administrative colleagues to ensure clinics run smoothly and to schedule.
Communicating effectively with patients, colleagues, and external partners.
Ensuring data accuracy, timely correspondence, and high-quality administrative support.
Your contribution will help ensure patients receive an excellent service and the breast screening programme continues to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.

Communicates clearly and confidently Has a sharp eye for detail and accuracy Is organised, adaptable, and thrives in a busy environment Works well in a team and puts patients at the centre of everything Is confident using Microsoft Office and ideally has experience with clinical systems (like NBSS)
Previous healthcare experience is great, but not essential if youve got strong admin skills and a great attitude, wed love to hear from you.
