InHealth has its own national technology platform that delivers all aspects of its diagnostic services, from accepting the referral to returning the report. The platform is a combination of healthcare systems and internally developed software. The Solution Architect will take on the challenge of designing technical solutions to advance and improve the national technology platform. This will involve:
Selection and integration of third-party software systems.
Shaping the development of internally developed cloud (Azure) applications.
Integration with customers and suppliers.
The Solution Architect will report to the Head of Architecture and work with an existing Technical Architect.
Main duties of the job
Design technical solutions (products and services) to meet user needs and align with InHealth and NHS technical strategy and standards.
Provide a consistent set of solution views, that communicate and describe the construction of the solution to all stakeholders.
Champion solution communication, making the complex simple to understand.
Support delivery teams, blending technical (development and architecture) and behaviour (leadership and communication) skills.
Drive resolution of technical debt.

- Ability to deliver training on complex architecture to IT operational staff.
- Demonstrable detailed understanding of architecture principles and methods, technology, and standards.
- Highly motivated, able to self-teach and widely recognised as a technology expert.
- Design authority internally and externally, recognised as a specialist in highly complex technical areas.
- Ability to listen and deconstruct/ replay complex conversations into issues, activities, and architectural models and diagrams.
- Ability to translate business needs into architecture solutions.
- Understanding of NHS IT deployments, requirements, and models of business and care.
- Hold excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to facilitate large group sessions, discussing complex technical issues and solutions.
- Passionate about using technology to create business value.
