You will:
- Manage Key Partnerships: Account manage relationships with our key partners, ensuring strong and productive partnerships.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work with our commercial and policy teams to grow these relationships, design new commercial offers, and secure sponsors and exhibitors for a range of events for NHS leaders.
- Expand Our Network: Continuously build our pipeline of new partners, helping us grow our income and support our members.

The NHS Confederation is the membership organisation that brings together, supports and speaks for the whole healthcare system in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We have big challenges and bold ambitions to empower, enable and support the whole health system to improve the health of all the population and to deliver high quality care.
Our directorate supports this by delivering over 150 events per year, including NHS ConfedExpo, our flagship event, delivered in partnership with NHS England. We also build partnerships with organisations to invest in and co-create our policy work for members, develop new offers in the data, improvement and leadership space, and offering new consulting offers, e.g. to manage events or support communications. Finally, we operate a commercial venue in Leeds, Horizon.

Job responsibilities
This role works across the Confederation to drive our commercial activity and engagement with industry partners to generate investment to fund our events and policy work to support our members. The postholder will work closely with directors across the organisation to market and sell new commercial products to our commercial partners and wider stakeholders.
Working on the delivery of the operational aspects of our national exhibitions, liaising with clients, venues, and contractors role will ensure that contracts are agreed and delivered on time and within budget, ensuring a high return on investment.
Responsibilities
Commercial Activity and Engagement
- Collaborate with events, marketing and policy colleagues to deliver revenue generating activities across various conferences and events.
- Manage key commercial partners with partnership agreements of up to £50,000.
Sales and revenue generation- Identify and pursue commercial opportunities for the portfolio of events and projects.
- Achieve and manage commercial income targets.
- Track secured income, draft proposals, sales brochure and subsequent contracts
- Work with finance colleagues to submit invoices for achieved sales in a timely manner.
- Provide regular progress updates in weekly team sales meetings.
- Support the teams tracking of income and reporting to all the wider organisation in terms of our commercial income and pipeline of new partners.
Stakeholder management- Account management for a wide range of commercial clients, building and maintaining key relationships to support the delivery of the wider commercial strategy.
- Liaise with exhibitors, sponsors, venues, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective event delivery.
Business Growth- Work with our commercial and policy teams to grow these relationships, design new commercial offers, and secure sponsors and exhibitors for a range of events for NHS leaders.
- Identify and engage new partners to convert sales leads for your portfolio of events and projects.
- Attend specific networking and sales events for the different target markets to build contacts and network with industry partners.
Health Industry Insight- Working with policy colleagues to help build and maintain a good knowledge of the current health and social care environment.
- Staying informed on current issues affecting our stakeholders and members to identify new opportunities and align existing partners with upcoming commercial activity.
Event Management- You'll ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered, to ensure the safety and health of all involved and to protect the organisation from adverse litigation.
- Manage key logistical aspects of each event both pre and post event ensuring safe and successful exhibitions.
- Travel to Northern Ireland for delivery of NICON events
- Contribute to a £6million commercial income target.
