Job summary

We are looking for an Estates Supervisor to join our Estates Team at Hopewood Park.

This post will be offered as Permanent, full time.

Main duties of the job

To supervise our valued workforce and contractors carrying out the operation and maintenance of the systems and services as listed below.

All work is to be undertaken in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure the engineering services, building fabric and infrastructure of the hospital to provide a safe environment for patients, public and staff.

o Mechanical / Plumbing & Electrical engineering

o Building and Joinery

o Painting

o Grounds and Gardens

o Managing Contractors engaged on any of the above work activities

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • The post holder will have previous general experience in service, maintenance, and repair of all general building and engineering trades. This will typically involve a good working knowledge of the following key areas: Mechanical & electrical building services, Building fabric, Health and Safety legislation and risk assessments, Pressure regulations, Legionella and water management legislation, Asbestos and hazardous / general waste regulations, HTM's and HGN's, Emergency procedures and systems
  • Must demonstrate good understanding of health & safety
  • Must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the role

Experience

Desirable

  • Experience of supervising directly employed labour and contractors employed on day-to-day maintenance
  • Experience of working in a hospital environment or equivalent

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • The post holder must have completed a recognised and registered apprenticeship, with a relevant City and Guilds/NVQ 3 certificate or equivalent, have relevant post qualification experience, or a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in a building, building services or electrical related subject, or equivalent
