Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Property Officer within the Property Management team.
The suitably experienced and qualified professional will work as part of a multi-disciplinary property team across several sites covering Cumbria, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear (CNTW). The position will be predominately based in the North East.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
- Property Management - carrying out lease/ licence negotiations involving private landlords, solicitors, other NHS bodies
Contract Management - negotiating and monitoring SLA agreements with other NHS bodies, PFI contract management. Regular reporting to senior management on the performance and effectiveness of contracts.
Accommodation management - managing complex multi departmental relocations to achieve greater accommodation efficiencies.
- Managing day-to-day liaison with contractors including PFI Companies or other service providers, ensuring open communication, prompt resolution of issues, and that services are delivered as agreed
Concluding PFI contracts and managing all aspects of the expiry and hand back

- Gained an appropriate degree or equivalent in a related discipline or have a gained a Higher National Diploma/Certificate or equivalent in a surveying, building or construction discipline and have significant experience to equate to a degree level
- Have or be working towards membership of a relevant institution (RICS, CIOB)
Experience

- Property management in a large organisation
- Negotiating with Landlords in respect of new leases or licences
- Management of contracts in a property related environment
- Inspections of building condition
- Able to meet the mobility needs of the post
Skills and Knowledge

- Expert technical knowledge of Property Management within a large and diverse organisation
- Expert knowledge of planning, land law and Landlord and Tenant legislation
- Knowledge of contract procedures
- Must have good understanding of construction and building services within healthcare premises.
- Must have a working knowledge of all relevant legislations such as H&S at Work Regulations, DDA, Risk Management and legislation appertaining to construction
- Good technical knowledge of planning, construction and design
- The ability to carry out detailed building and engineering surveys and be able to accurately assess condition and be able to estimate costs needed to bring defects back to an acceptable standard.
- Manage and co-ordinate rolling programmes of site surveys over long cyclical periods.
- Manage and co-ordinate rolling programmes of site surveys over long cyclical periods.
- Advanced keyboard and IT skills
