MIAA Solutions are advertising the above role on behalf of Frodsham and Helsby PCN, at theHelsby
and Elton Practice.
Helsby and Elton Practice are currently recruiting for a
professional, caring and hardworking practice nurse to join our friendly and
supportive nursing team. The ideal candidate will be registered with the NMC
and have experience working in general practice and be confident in the
monitoring of patients with long term conditions as detailed by the Quality and
Outcomes framework.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will
provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, focussing
on, but not limited to, the monitoring and management of long-term conditions,
health promotion, cervical screening and immunisations. Alongside these skills
the successful candidate will provide nursing assistance to the doctors and work
collaboratively with other members of the primary health care team to meet the
needs of patients and support the delivery of policies and procedures.

Helsby and Elton Practice is an established practice of c10,000 patients
from a diverse range of social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Our team
currently consists of 5 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 3 Advanced Nurse
Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 GP Assistant and 1 Healthcare Assistant, as
well as a bank of reception and admin staff who are committed to patient care.

Job responsibilities
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care
- Cervical screening
- Removal of Sutures
- Health Checks / Urinalysis
- Travel Advice and Immunisations
- ECGs
- Venepuncture
- Hypertension Management
- Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
- Administration of injections for B12, Prostap, Depo Provera, etc
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Chronic Disease management including Diabetes, COPD and Asthma, IHD, Stroke and Hypertension.
- Following agreed clinical protocols
- Other tasks will include
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by yourself and GPs
- Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by another clinician.
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
- Ordering of Health Promotion Literature
- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
- A duty to advise PM or GP of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
- On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
- Any other delegated duties to ensure the smooth running of the Practice
