Job summary
The role of a catering assistant is responsible for the provision of a food and beverage service in accordance with health and safety requirements, Patient Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) and NHS Property Services policies and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to, food preparation, cooking, serving and presentation, cleaning of crockery, cutlery and equipment, rotation of stock, maintenance of food hygiene regulations and cash handling.
Main duties of the job
Prepare all food/beverages as necessary in accordance with menus, portion control and agreed standards.
Ensure organisation health and safety policies and procedures and all relevant food safety legislation is complied with.
Undertake and record temperature checks and ensure high standards of food hygiene are maintained.
Ensure that the correct cycle of delivery, storage, stock rotation and display is followed including for crockery and cutlery.
If required, prepare all necessary items for hospitality requests for collection or delivery at specified times.
Carry out all appropriate cleaning duties in the kitchen, dining facility and all other areas within the catering departments responsibility and operate a 'clean as you go' policy in any tasks you undertake.
Responsible for following policies, procedures and departmental guidelines on catering and cleaning and to make comments, suggestions to improve the service we provide.
Ensure financial and cash handling procedures are complied with.
Operate equipment in a safe manner complying with policies and procedures in line with training, reporting faulty and hazardous equipment through the correct channel and maintain equipment in a clean and safe manner

- £12.62 per hour, £24,681.00 per annum, pro-rata
- 19.25 hours per week - Week 1 Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday Week 2 Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 2pm-7.30pm
