Job summary

The Fellowship posts are designed to support emerging Primary Care leaders within the local healthcare System, to allow an opportunity to consolidate their clinical and managerial skills whilst developing educational and leadership skills in a supportive environment with protected time.

This will be based with the PCWTH with leadership activity with PCWTH or partner organisations within the ICS

Main duties of the job

A number of opportunities are possible including, but not limited to:

  1. Supporting effective implementation of national Primary Care strategies
  2. Service development within the ICB, at Place level, GP federations and/or Primary Care Networks
  3. Supporting inter-professional learning and transformation through the South Yorkshire Workforce and training hub
  4. Supporting Primary Care clinical leadership currently unavailable to ICB clinical work streams

The aim would be to agree a mutually beneficial work programme matching the interests of the post holder (Fellow) to system needs.

Qualifications/Knowledge

Essential

  • oProfessional body registration (clinical) oMRCGP/CCT in GP (GPs) oDegree level or equivalent (managerial) oAwareness of NHS provision and legislation. oCurrent knowledge of the ICB and Primary Care Networks, their structure, and the focused areas of service delivery

Desirable

  • oAdditional training in teaching/mentoring oSome knowledge of QI principles (clinical) oProject management qualification i.e. Prince 2 (managerial) oInnovative ideas and ability to develop / implement these oKnowledge of current strategic documents

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum two year's experience in general practice

Desirable

  • oProven interest in healthcare education, leadership, or service development
