Job summary
Wigan Borough Federated Healthcare is
looking to recruit two Nurse Associates as part of the additional roles
reimbursement scheme (ARRS) to work as part of the Health & Inequalities
Team consisting of Quality Nurse Manager, Health & Inequalities Team
leader, GP assistants and Care Co-ordinators to help provide the provision of
General Medical Services, Enhanced Services and work with the Primary Care
Network in accordance with the GMS and other practice contracts.
Main duties of the job
You
will work within the scope of nursing and care, and within all aspects of the
nursing process working in line with NMC standards of proficiency
The
Nurse Associates will work across community clinical venues as well as
participating in targeted health events aimed at reducing health inequalities.
You
will be an integral part of PCN work-streams, providing high quality, safe
effective care to our patient population working both independently and via a
multi-disciplinary approach to support patients, their families and carers.
Enable
patients, families and carers to develop their knowledge and understanding
about their health and well-being and be as self-managing as possible.
To
work as part of a multidisciplinary team using resources efficiently to deliver
quality care to patients and to work effectively within the nursing team across
the PCN
You
will establish and maintain effective communication, both verbally, written and
relationships across the PCN and within multi-disciplinary team.
Participate
in quality improvement activities, preserve confidentiality and act professionally
at all times
Maintain
professional conduct, be always responsible for own actions and act
professionally.
Effectively
manage own time, workload and resources.
Participate
in regular practice supervision and where appropriate practice assessment of
the non-registered support workforce, TNAs, newly registered NAs and
pre-registration nursing graduates.

Primary Care Network. The Primary Care Network (PCN) consists of 13 GP
practices and we offer an extension to the GP services in a predominantly
community setting utilising spaces within the Voluntary, Community or Social

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurssing Associate with NMC PIN
- Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
- GCSE Grade A-C in Mathematics and English or skills level 2 Mathematics and English
Desirable
- Qualified in phlebotomy, ECG. Knowledge of QOF and qualification in administering COVID and flu vaccinations.
- Further training in cervical screening, childhood immunisations and spirometry.
Experience
Essential
- Recent previous experience within a comparable role/transferable skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload
- Ability to deal with non- routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
- Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code.
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
- Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation Ability to assess clinical situations and act appropriately
- Able to assess, plan and evaluate patient care, taking into account the needs and desires of the patients
- Basic computer literacy including Knowledge of Microsoft office systems and use of email
