Job summary
The Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Healthcare Assistant (HCA) supports the delivery of community-based Long-Acting Reversible Contraception services for patients registered with GP practices in Barking & Dagenham. Working as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, the post holder provides patient-focused support before, during, and after LARC procedures, ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care within their scope of practice.

Main duties of the job
The Long-Acting Reversible Contraception Healthcare Assistant provides direct clinical and administrative support within LARC clinics, including welcoming and supporting patients, preparing and maintaining clinical environments, assisting GPs during procedures, and maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS. The role includes stock and equipment management, adherence to infection prevention and control standards, supporting referral pathways, and contributing to audits and patient feedback processes, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
