An exciting opportunity has
arisen for an exceptional and forward thinking Registered Nurse to join our
nursing team at Haven Court.
We are an 80-bedded, purpose
built facility providing a comprehensive range of services. This includes long
term residential and nursing care services, reablement and respite services,
day services and a range of health and social care services for older people.
We are also proud to announce the recent opening of the Cedar Unit which offers
6 dedicated end of life beds/palliative care beds.
Haven Court provides a
friendly caring environment for older people, where they are treated with
respect, courtesy and dignity. Our professional team of staff put the needs of the
service users and their carers first whilst fully involving them in their care
planning.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direction of
the Registered Manager and Deputies, the successful candidate will oversee the
effective delivery of the service on a daily basis, liaise with families and
other agencies and represent the best interests of the residents within the
nursing and residential units. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will
provide personalised, high quality and safe care whilst being involved in
helping to shape services and future developments. You should be able to
demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be
supported in your development and further learning opportunities are available.
You
will be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to meet the
requirements of the shift pattern which includes a combination of long days,
earlies, lates and rotation onto nightshift. The roster covers 7 days of the
week, 24 hours per day. Full time, part time and flexible working is available

As
a Registered Nurse, the postholder will provide leadership to the care and
nursing functions of the service, promoting a caring environment for service
users through high standards of professional practice that will be conducive to
the needs of the individuals, their carers and families.
The
postholder will ensure that each service user receives care appropriate to their
individual needs and implement and exceed the requirements of the standards
agreed, legislative requirements, and relevant regulations and in line with
accepted best practices and company Policies and Procedures.
Duties include:
Clinical
Management
Develop and evaluate care plans which provide
quality of life for individual service users in conjunction with the statutory
contract with the referring agency and Care Plan, and ensuring compliance with
care programmes
Be integral to the assessment of need of a
service user in conjunction with relevant professional agencies and, where
appropriate, the family
Effectively manage service user flow and room
capacity to ensure the service is able to meet the needs of any prospective
service user
Ensure that service users medication are held,
stored and administered in accordance with company policies, prescriptions and
care plans
Ensure the quality provision of care which may
include end of life care, in partnership with GPs and in consultation with
visiting Professionals
Participate in the design and administration of
an evaluation of the nursing standards and nursing service provision
Encourage a model of self-care, health promotion
and rehabilitation including innovative methods for the delivery of care
Support arrangements for the introduction and
reception of new service users are made in accordance with National and local
Standards.
Ensure that the emotional, spiritual, physical,
medical and material needs of the individual service users are recognised,
assessed and met
Report and escalate any deterioration in a
service users clinical condition, making requests for GP / Professional visits
where necessary
Ensure that Service Users rights are protected
Continually assess of the effectiveness of care
and maintain care and nursing standards
