Job summary

Are you an experienced hospitality professional looking to lead a venue with real social impact? Head Room Café is a vibrant community hub combining high-quality food and drink with a welcoming, inclusive environment. We are seeking a Hospitality Venue Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a dedicated team, and ensure an excellent customer experience while supporting our wider community and mental health mission.

Main duties of the job

You will manage the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring smooth operations, high service standards, and effective team leadership. Responsibilities include staff supervision and development, stock and supplier management, financial control, and maintaining health, safety, and food hygiene standards. You will also support events and venue hire, working collaboratively with community teams. Applicants should have proven hospitality or venue management experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for customer service. Knowledge of food safety is essential; awareness of Kashrut is desirable (training provided).

Head Room Café is a social enterprise delivered by Jami, now part of Jewish Care, following their merger in November 2023. It is a unique high street space offering a fresh daily menu alongside informal, peer-led mental health support. More than a café, Head Room is a safe, inclusive environment where conversations and connections support wellbeing. About the Role Were looking for a Hospitality Venue Manager to lead the cafs daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient team management, and smooth-running events. Youll be responsible for maintaining high standards in food service, staff training, health and safety, and financial performance while also collaborating with our community programmes team to support our wider social mission. This post is working 40 hours per week. Full-time, including occasional evenings for events What Youll Do
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the caf, ensuring smooth operations and outstanding customer experience.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
  • Manage stock control, supplier relationships, and cost efficiencies.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, food hygiene, and Kashrut compliance.
  • Coordinate community events and private venue hire, ensuring seamless service.
  • Work closely with our community programme team to support mental health initiatives within the caf space.
