Job summary
Jamis mental health services are enriched by a dedicated community of volunteers. As part of our new strategy, we are expanding volunteering across our services and are looking for a Mental Health Volunteering Coordinator to help lead this work. In this varied and people-focused role, you will work closely with service managers and the centralised volunteering team to develop meaningful volunteering opportunities that safely and effectively support people using Jami services. You will promote best practice in volunteer management, support and advise volunteer role managers, coordinate recruitment activity, and ensure volunteers feel valued, supported and able to make a real impact. Based at our Finchley hub, the role includes building strong relationships across services, coordinating volunteering projects, supporting training and supervision, monitoring outcomes, and occasionally providing hands-on support across Jami resources. This post is onsite and part time for 22.5 hours per week (3 days) - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Based in our Finchley Hub with support across other Jami resources when needed.
Main duties of the job
Requirements Essential: Experience of managing and supporting volunteers Experience of working with vulnerable people Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and best practice in volunteer management Strong organisational, IT and administrative skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively Desirable: Degree-level education or relevant training Experience in mental health services Experience delivering training or facilitating groups Lived experience of mental illness Knowledge of, or experience working within, the Jewish community If youre passionate about volunteering and mental health and want to make a real impact, wed love to hear from you.
