Do you have a passion for supporting older adults and ensuring their safety and well-being overnight? We are looking for a compassionate and responsible Night Warden to join our team at Jewish Care.
This post is working 5 out of 7 days on 12.5 hour shifts from 8pm to 8.30am, including some weekends, excluding breaks.
You will be working an average of 34.5 hours per week. The rota is:
Week 1: 4 shifts per week. (46 hours)
Week 2: 2 shifts per week (23 hours)
Week 3: 0 shifts per week
Overtime is available.
Main duties of the job
As a Night Warden, you will provide overnight support, security, and reassurance to tenants living in our independent sheltered housing. You will help ensure the building remains safe, respond effectively to emergencies, and offer a calm, supportive presence throughout the night.
What Youll Be Doing:
Carrying out checks on tenants wellbeing and responding to calls for assistance
Acting as the first point of contact during emergencies, including fire alarms and medical incidents
Maintaining building security, locking communal areas, and monitoring access
Recording and reporting incidents, maintenance issues, and tenant concerns
Supporting tenants with minor issues while encouraging independence
What Were Looking For:
Experience of lone working, security, or a care-related role
Understanding of health & safety, emergency procedures, and risk assessment
Compassionate, calm under pressure, and professional in sensitive situations
Basic IT and record-keeping skills
Health & Social Care Level 2 qualification (or willingness to work towards this)
