Working with the Therapy team, the Neuropsychologist will be responsible for the delivery of Psychological and Neuropsychological assessments and interventions to adults with acquired brain injury and progressive neurological conditions. You will be leading the multidisciplinary Inspire Neurocare team, under the supervision of the Clinical Lead to ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist Neuro-psychology service to residents,

This role is ideal for a established and specialist Neuropsychologist or a Clinical Psychologist with a strong knowledge of Neurological practices that can assess, evaluate, diagnose and treat residents with Neurological injuries or disorders.

What you'll be doing

  • You will conduct and develop a range of complex Neuropsychological assessments and evaluations, implement relevant interventions and develop rehabilitation programmes of residents that have brain, stroke and spinal cord injuries, complex neurological disorders and progressive neurological conditions.
  • You will be required to use your skills communicate sensitive and sometimes challenging information to residents, their relatives, their support workers/carers and friends ensuring that you manage adverse reactions safely.
  • You will give expert neuro-psychological advice and support to other professionals, helping with residents' diagnoses and treatment plans, so you can make informed decisions that consider complex factors.
  • You will be required to undertake risk assessments relating to cognition and behaviour and devise guidelines and management plans for the rest of the team to follow.
  • You will be responsible for providing regular guidance, supervision and support for the Assistant Psychologist and other members of the Therapy team who will also be providing psychologically based treatments to residents.

  • Extensive, demonstrable experience working in a Clinical setting preferably with a focus on Neuropsychology.
  • Strong experience in working with individuals who have complex, specialist needs that require regular review.
  • Have an understanding of the statutory duties of local government in social care.
  • Experience working with individuals with acquired or traumatic brain injuries and have an understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with neurological problems is preferred.
  • A compassionate nature and commitment to make a real difference to the lives of our residents.
  • Excellent communications skills, a great attitude to teamwork and a desire to lead on person centred resident care.
