35 hours per week up to £24,850 dependent on experience
Are you passionate about supporting communities and making a positive difference? For this role, we are seeking an individual who is passionate about supporting local communities to thrive. Working with community groups and individuals, you will naturally bring people together to build positive relationships, address inequalities and connect communities to provide the best outcomes to bring about social change. Successful applicants will have experience of working in a community-based role with a good understanding of community and social issues and the ability to bring people together to improve lives.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve proactive and reactive work, utilising key skills in partnership working, consultation and engagement, networking, project management and capacity building. The postholder will adopt a community development approach with the principles of community empowerment. To engage and help individuals to be actively involved with community activities, building community capacity to bring about social change and improve the quality of life in their local lives. The role involves addressing inequality with communities perceived to be culturally, economically or socially disadvantaged.
