Your role as a Speech and Language Therapist requires you:
To undertake assessment and formulate person-centred, goal orientated treatment plans for service users.
To carry out appropriate Speech and Language Therapy intervention as documented in the treatment plan.
To continuously evaluate Speech and Language Therapy intervention and to review as necessary.
To record all Speech and Language Therapy intervention in accordance with RCSLT/HCPC guidelines and company standards.
To maintain confidentiality of service user information
To always ensure a high standard of clinical and professional practice.
To comply with all mandatory health and safety requirements and undertake essential training.
To participate in clinical audit in accordance with company policy.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To assess, differentially diagnose, provide treatment and manage a caseload of adults with acquired
communication and swallowing disorders for service users in nursing, residential and domiciliary
care services. The purpose of this role is to manage own caseload and ensure the provision of
quality Speech and Language Therapy services for Fieldbay.
Clinical
1. To undertake assessment and formulate person-centred, goal orientated treatment plans for
service users.
2. To carry out appropriate Speech and Language Therapy intervention as documented in the
treatment plan.
3. To continuously evaluate Speech and Language Therapy intervention and to review as
necessary.
4. To record all Speech and Language Therapy intervention in accordance with Royal College of
Speech and Language Therapists/Health Professions Council guidelines and company
standards.
5. To provide training, observation and supervision of therapy assistant staff to ensure
competence for carrying out speech and language therapy treatment programmes under
direction by the qualified speech and language therapist.

Continued Professional Development
16. To ensure continued professional development through reading, attending courses and
networking with local and special interest groups.
17. To maintain professional registration and to keep an updated CPD portfolio to support this.
18. To maintain an awareness of current trends in Speech and Language Therapy and carry out
study in relevant areas.
19. To contribute to supervision / appraisal of therapy assistant staff, and to provide fieldwork
