Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Assistant Psychologist to join our team in a residential setting within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As an Assistant Psychologist, you will work closely with qualified psychologists and other mental health professionals to provide high-quality care and support to young individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a residential setting while contributing to the well-being and development of young people in need.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Psychological Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct initial assessments and assist in the formulation of psychological profiles for residents.
Administer and score standardized psychological tests under the supervision of qualified psychologists.
Collect and analyse relevant data to contribute to the understanding of residents' psychological needs.
Individual and Group Interventions:
Assist in the planning and delivery of therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the needs of individual residents.
Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychoeducational workshops aimed at enhancing residents' coping skills and emotional regulation.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies as necessary.

Nestlings Care Ltd is an independent care provider for Children and Young Adults registered with CQC and Ofsted who provide highly specialist residential placement for young people with challenging behaviors due to mental health diagnoses. Our aim is to take young people from various restrictive settings for example hospitals, secure childrens homes, to a homely environment to offer them a chance of living in the community with robust monitoring, risk management and comprehensive treatment plans. You will be supported by the Registered Manager and a highly experienced multi-disciplinary Mental Health team. Currently we have several homes across the North West of England and we have achieved positive outcomes with a number of young people.
