Position: Occupational Therapist
About the role:
Due to an expansion in our Clinical Services we are recruiting for a new team to support clients with brain and spinal injuries. Therefore this is a new role and a chance for the successful candidate to grow and develop the service.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Director Specialist Services, the Occupational Therapist will be responsible for assessment and treatment of male and female service users in specialist units and in their own homes all over Norfolk. To provide Occupational Therapy advice, guidance and information to service users, support workers and health and social service professionals.

Deliver occupational therapy interventions/programmes and advice in a variety of settings, across all areas of Norfolk
Develops the clients control over decision making, assesses the patient/clients commitment to the jointly determined plan of care, and fosters personal responsibility for health
To monitor the levels of OT equipment and be proactive in identifying what is/will be required for individual
Responsible for the safe use of equipment by patients/clients
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work to ensure a high standard of clinical care.
To refer to other staff and agencies as appropriate.
To assist in relevant aspects of health promotion for service users within the Reablement pathway.
To refer to and recommend the provision of aids to assist the service user to achieve their reablement goals.
To establish effective communication networks with service users, support workers and other team members
Meet company set targets
To be responsible for the effective and efficient organisation of your own time management, prioritisation, workload and the safe use of equipment.
To adhere to Ceras rights based approach, taking into account service user choice.
To take reasonable care for ensuring your own personal health and safety and that of service users and other staff that may be affected by your acts or omissions.

- State Registration with the Health Care Professions Council

- 2 years experience working as an autonomous Occupational Therapist
- Experience in working in the Community
- Experience of team working and liaison with other staff groups
- Evidence of CPD portfolio
- Awareness and understanding of NICE guidelines
