Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to service user experiencing mental health challenges, assisting with their daily needs and ensuring their safety within a supported living setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate leadership qualities, and be committed to delivering high-quality care in accordance with individualised care plans. This role covers multiple sites including west midlands and Shropshire

Main duties of the job

1. Ensuring the well-being and advocacy of Service Users 2. Accurate record-keeping and support planning 3. Maintaining CQC compliance, conducting audits, and risk assessments 4. Performing spot checks to maintain service quality 5. Financial oversight and documentation 6. Assisting in developing positive boundaries in relationships 7. Supporting education, training, and employment goals 8. Preparing residents for employment and daily routines 9. Budgeting assistance and promoting a healthy diet 10. Assisting with laundry, basic cleaning, and maintenance 11. Promoting personal hygiene and healthy lifestyles 12. Assisting with public transport and accessing services 13. Exploring housing options and appointments with housing officers 14. Supporting benefit claims and housing advice 15. Financial management and literacy support 16. Facilitating access to other support services and appointments

We have an opportunity for a passionate recovery worker to join our west midlands or Shropshire Service.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and observe service users regularly, documenting behaviour and progress as per organisational protocols
  • Assist service user with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
  • Implement and support care plans designed by healthcare professionals, ensuring service user needs are met effectively
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to service user, fostering a safe and supportive environment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review service user progress and adjust care strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of service user interactions and report any concerns or incidents promptly
  • Support the organisation of therapeutic activities and group sessions as directed by senior staff
  • Uphold safety standards at all times, intervening appropriately in situations of distress or behavioural issues
  • GCSES Equivalent level 4/5
  • Flexibility
