Main duties of the job

We are recruiting a dedicated and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our established therapy team at Holybourne Hospital on a 12-month fixed-term contract commencing March 2026.

This role offers mental health OTs the opportunity to practise in a dynamic inpatient setting across our Acute Wards, with the added opportunity to shape and influence occupational therapy provision within our new Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), opening later in 2026.You will work with individuals experiencing a wide range of complex and acute mental health presentations, using occupational formulation to inform meaningful, recovery-oriented interventions.

As a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you will play a central role in assessment, care planning, and therapeutic delivery, ensuring occupation remains at the heart of recovery. You will contribute actively to ward rounds and MDT meetings, advocating for functional goals, promoting independence, and supporting patients to rebuild roles, routines, and identity.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mental health OT who is passionate about recovery-focused practice, values collaborative working, and wants to contribute to the ongoing development of occupational therapy within an evolving inpatient service.
