About Active Neuro

Active Neuro is redefining specialist care for individuals with:

  • Acquired and traumatic brain injury
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Complex neurological conditions

Through substantial investment in robotics, cutting-edge rehabilitation technology, digital integration, and a genuine 24/7 therapeutic model, we are building one of the UK’s most progressive neurorehabilitation pathways.

From rapid pre-admission planning and structured inpatient programmes to innovative outpatient pathways and coordinated post-discharge support, we deliver rehabilitation that is personalised, data-driven, and relentlessly outcome-focused.

The Opportunity

As Founding Hospital Director & Registered Manager, you will:

  • Lead and secure CQC hospital registration, embedding governance excellence from day one
  • Establish and grow a market-leading private spinal rehabilitation hospital
  • Define and implement the organisation’s private approach to spinal care
  • Build and inspire a high-performing multidisciplinary team
  • Develop strong partnerships with consultants, insurers, referrers, and stakeholders
  • Drive occupancy, commercial performance, and strategic growth
  • Position the service as the premier private spinal rehabilitation provider in the South East

This is an executive leadership opportunity combining clinical credibility, commercial strategy, and entrepreneurial vision. You will not simply manage a service, you will shape a centre of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full regulatory compliance and achievement of outstanding CQC standards
  • Delivery of safe, effective, person-centred spinal and neurorehabilitation
  • Embedding a true 24/7 therapeutic culture
  • Leading private patient pathways and enhancing the end-to-end customer journey
  • Developing relationships with private medical insurers and insurance providers
  • Driving business development, referral growth, and occupancy strategy
  • Overseeing financial performance, workforce planning, and sustainable growth
  • Championing colleague engagement, leadership development, and cultural excellence
  • Acting as a visible, inspiring leader for patients, families, insurers, and regulators

Who We’re Looking For:

This is not a traditional Registered Manager appointment.

We are seeking a visionary, commercially sophisticated healthcare leader operating at Hospital CEO, COO, or Executive Director level within the private healthcare sector, ready to build and lead a flagship spinal hospital from inception.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Hospital CEO, COO, or senior executive leader within a private hospital setting
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrable success in business development, market growth, and private pay strategy
  • Significant experience working with private medical insurers and insurance providers, including pathway development, contract negotiation, and relationship management
  • A deep understanding of customer experience excellence within private healthcare
  • Experience leading hospital registration and robust governance frameworks (CQC essential)
  • Financial leadership capability, including full budget ownership and performance optimisation
  • A track record of building and leading high-performing clinical and operational teams
  • A Level 5 qualification (or willingness to work towards it)

Beyond experience, we are looking for someone who:

  • Thinks strategically and acts decisively
  • Inspires confidence at Board level and at bedside
  • Is bold enough to challenge convention and ambitious enough to set new national benchmarks
  • Combines commercial intelligence with clinical integrity
  • Leads with vision, energy, resilience, and emotional intelligence

Why Join Us?

  • Shape strategy, growth, and service design from inception
  • Work within an organisation investing heavily in innovation and excellence
  • Build a centre recognised for world-class rehabilitation outcomes
  • Make a tangible and lasting impact on spinal rehabilitation standards

If you are ready to set a new benchmark in private spinal care, and build something truly exceptional, we would love to hear from you.
