We are seeking a Lead Occupational Therapist (Band 7 equivalent) to join our expert team at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York. This senior role offers the opportunity to develop and lead an OT service in a highly specialist setting. You'll work with patients with complex neurological conditions, lead a dedicated Occupational Therapy team, and integrate cutting-edge rehab technology into personalised therapy programmes.
You'll have the opportunity to work with advanced rehabilitation technology, including Luna EMG, Arm Motus, Ankle Motus, ExoMotus, and Anti-Gravity Treadmill, enabling data-driven therapy, accelerated functional recovery, and measurable improvements in mobility, strength, and motor control.

The role:
- Lead and manage the Occupational Therapy team, ensuring effective delivery of the highly specialist Occupational Therapy service
- Work as an autonomous practitioner to plan and prioritise a complex clinical caseload
- Work closely with patients and their family/carers to encourage participation in the therapeutic process
- Provide supervision, teaching, and appraisal for junior occupational therapists, assistants, students and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service
- Develop Occupational therapy Treatment programmes in collaboration with patients, carers and other involved professionals (e.g. occupational therapy assistants, support workers) to be carried out as appropriate
- Participating in clinical audit, clinical risk and quality issues, including the management and reporting of incidents
- Ensure a high level of communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in the process of positively supporting and inspiring colleagues within the service to improve standards and quality and to develop professional practice
- Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights
