Your Impact
As the Lead Speech and Language Therapist, you will:
Transform Lives: Design and implement evidence-based interventions that empower patients to overcome communication and swallowing challenges, helping them achieve their goals just as James did.
Inspire Leadership: Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and supervision to a skilled team of Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants.

What you'll be working:
This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and manage the Speech and Language team, ensuring effective delivery of the highly specialist SLT service.
- Plan and prioritise a complex clinical caseload.
- Provide advanced specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing.
- Take a lead role in diagnosis, problem formulation and planning of rehabilitation programmes within the MDT.
- Provide intervention as part of an MDT approach and lead and implement MDT service developments.
- Evaluate effectiveness of interventions using valid and reliable outcome measures and adherence to UKROC Database measures
- Ensure effective and timely communication at all levels (with patients, families, the MDT and external agencies).
- Develop and deliver in-service education and training programme for the wider MDT.
- Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights.
As a member of the senior management team, you will promote a culture of openness and responsiveness to the views of patients and relatives, a philosophy of person-centred care and recovery, and an ethos of positive learning from incidents within a high performing service.
